Our Founder and CEO, Sharon Njobo, was nominated for the 30th annual RBC Canadian Women Entrepreneur Awards.
The RBC Canadian Women Entrepreneur Awards is the premier national awards program celebrating the achievements of the most successful in this inspiring group. Now in its 30th year, tens of thousands have been nominated and over 200 women have taken home the top awards for demonstrating excellence — from economic growth to social change, from local to global reach, across multiple sectors.
Sharon has in recent years utilized her great convening power and her unwavering support for women to establish several women-owned companies in North America. Her financial inclusion work has elevated informal women's savings clubs into legally registered and profitable business enterprises wholly owned by African immigrant women. Sharon has over the years delivered a series of in-person events, online discussions, all relating to financial inclusion and women empowerment, bringing together thousands of women. Her efforts at investing in women have encouraged women to invest in real estate in foreign markets, removing barriers to entry for many women constrained by social norms and strict financial eligibility requirements. Her commitment to women’s empowerment, financial inclusion and women’s health rights is exceptional.
