MARGINS TO MAINSTREAM

Margins to mainstream

Margins to Mainstream in International Development

We work with partners in international development to design economic empowerment interventions for young women and adult women. This programme recognizes that women in developing countries desire a high-quality life and are deserving of more than basic needs.

  • Remove barriers and facilitate the entry of women in developing countries into mainstream of the economy
  • Using communications technology which is advanced in most developing countries to upgrade design of program
  • Leverage advancements in technology to prepare women to meaningfully and safely participate in international business/economy
  • Expand from the traditional development projects to equip women with skills to establish business that are solving local and global problems

Our step-by-step training process is meticulously designed to prepare women before they join our empowering program. We understand that each individual comes with unique experiences and aspirations, so our training approach is tailored to address their specific needs. Here is an overview of the comprehensive training journey:

1. Initial Dialogue: We begin with a dialogue that traces a woman's beliefs and traditions about money and wealth. The initial dialogue also seeks to understand the participants' skills, knowledge gaps, and aspirations. This dialogue helps us tailor the training curriculum to meet their specific requirements and ensure maximum impact.

2. Foundational Skills Development: The first phase of training focuses on building foundational skills that are essential for success in the business and economic landscape. This includes training in areas such as financial literacy, communication skills, problem-solving, and critical thinking.

3. Technical Skills Training: We provide specialized training in technical skills that are in demand in the local and global markets. This can vary based on the specific industries and sectors prevalent in the region. Our training covers areas such as technology, entrepreneurship, marketing, finance, and project management, among others.

4. Business Planning and Development: We guide participants through the process of developing a comprehensive business plan. This includes market research, identifying target audiences, developing marketing strategies, creating financial projections, and understanding legal and regulatory requirements.

5. Mentorship and Coaching: To further support their growth, we offer mentorship and coaching programs. Participants are paired with experienced mentors who provide guidance, support, and insights based on their own entrepreneurial journeys. This one-on-one mentorship helps participants refine their business ideas, navigate challenges, and gain valuable industry knowledge.

6. Networking and Collaboration: We facilitate networking opportunities and encourage collaboration among participants. Through workshops, conferences, and industry events, women have the chance to connect with potential business partners, investors, and mentors, fostering a strong support network.

7. International Exposure: Recognizing the importance of global perspectives, we provide opportunities for international exposure and learning. This may include participation in international conferences, or collaborations with international organizations, allowing participants to gain insights into global markets and foster cross-cultural understanding.

By following this step-by-step training process, we ensure that women are equipped with the necessary skills, knowledge, and support systems to confidently enter the program and embark on their entrepreneurial journeys. Our goal is to empower them to make a lasting impact in their communities and beyond.
